C!AO is a DJ, event producer, and cultural creator based in Osaka, Japan, and a leading figure in the country’s psychedelic music scene.

Since first encountering trance culture in New Zealand in 1996, he has spent decades cultivating a unique sound dedicated to “exploring the depths of consciousness through music.”

His DJ style seamlessly spans a wide range of subgenres—from Night Full-On to Forest and Dark Psy—merging explosive physical grooves with transformative spiritual journeys. By blending underground electronic expression with ceremonial and spiritual elements, he has crafted a one-of-a-kind sonic world that has earned him enthusiastic support both in Japan and abroad.

Under his low-BPM project P!NG, he explores Psytechno, Dark Progressive, and Minimal Techno, delivering hypnotic and immersive dance floor experiences. Through this project, C!AO resonates not only with psychedelic fans but also with wider electronic music audiences.

He is also a founding member and central organizer of GAIA, one of Japan’s largest psychedelic culture festivals.
